How to find the best Massage Therapist for you
Have you considered massage as part of your health routine?
Sometimes it's hard to know where to start when selecting a massage therapist. Here are a few things that can help you narrow down your search to ensure you find the best massage therapist for you:
1) Do your research
Doing an online search for massage therapists near you is a great start but it doesn't end there. Once you've found 3 to 5 therapists near you, we recommend that you take a close look at what they are offering. Is it a Spa environment where they only specialize in relaxation? Is it a Sports Massage clinic that only offers deep tissue and stretching? Is it a Therapeutic clinic that offers a variety of modalities? At Divine Spark we offer a variety of modalities and reassess the client before beginning each session. This informs us on the appropriate techniques and best practices to customize the session to meet your unique needs. That way we're giving you exactly what you need in each Therapeutic massage session. We also make recommendations based on what we find. This will provide you will long lasting results.
2) Try them out
We recommend that you set up an initial session to evaluate the therapist before fully committing. During this initial session, you will be able to gauge the effectiveness of the session. Was there a thorough intake process? Did the therapist check-in with you throughout the session? Did you feel or see improvement post-session? The massage therapist should be able to apply techniques that provide some relief even in the first session. Did they give you homework or provide and assessment of what they found? At Divine Spark we offer 15% off your first session so that you can evaluate us and see whether or not we are a good fit for you.
3) Continually communicate
With each visit make sure to communicate any changes in your health, pain levels and stress levels. The therapist should adjust their pressure, technique and goals each time based on these changes. If you feel like they begin to lose sight on customizing a session that is right for you or if you stop receiving the results you desire, it may be time to look for a new therapist.
